Spring 2013 Classes

The Lynden Sculpture Garden offers studio classes for young people in eight-week sessions from September through May. These classes focus on three-dimensional artmaking--though we will also do plenty of painting, drawing and collaging--and make use of Lynden’s special resources: the collection of monumental sculpture and 40 acres of park, lake and woodland. Taught by experienced art educators, classes combine creative expression with an age-appropriate understanding of media, processes and techniques.

Eight-Week Spring Session

Bookmark
Wednesdays, 1-2 pm
Ages 4-6

Make your mark in this eight-week bookmaking project. Each week we’ll expand our collection of artist-made books, enlivening our pages with pull-strip animations, pop-up collages, and paintings using natural pigments

2D / 3D
Thursdays, 4-5:30 pm
Ages: 7-12
$138 / $114 members
Many three-dimensional works of art begin with thumbnail drawings or napkin sketches. Using traditional art media, tools and methods, we’ll map out works on paper and then translate them into three-dimensional forms. We’ll turn line drawings into wire mobiles, charcoal self-portraits into clay busts, and melt microcrystalline wax shapes to form sculpture.

Enrollment is limited, please register early. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. You may register online, or drop off/mail/fax/email registration form and full payment to:

Fees
Class fees include supplies and admission to the sculpture garden on the day of each session. Save on registration by becoming a Lynden Sculpture Garden member.

Sibling/Buddy Discount
Register for a studio class with a friend or sibling who is new to the Lynden Sculpture Garden and you each receive a $10 discount. Registrations must be submitted together; students do not need to register for the same class to receive the discount.

Financial Aid

Refund Policy
There is a $15 administrative fee for all refunds. No refunds are given after the first day of class.

Cancellation Policy
If a class is filled to capacity, or cancelled due to low enrollment, your tuition will be refunded in full.
