Even a small detail can expand our understanding of a work of art. This three-part workshop takes a close look at the role of observation in understanding art and the creative process. A mini-tour identifies visual design elements used by some of the artists in the collection. In the studio, make a portfolio using origami, and then take it into the garden for drawing and painting exercises designed to sharpen your new observational skills.
